The database was compiled by the Molecular and Cellular Sciences Team located in the Food Safety and Quality Directorate of The Central Science Laboratory at Sand Hutton York. The team also carries out research into allergen structure and potency. We have, for example, commercial services dedicated to GM food and pesticide residue testing. The database was funded by the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food/Joint Food Safety and Standards Group (MAFF/JFSSG). You may enter the DEFRA web site by clicking on the DEFRA Icon. The Joint Food Standards Group became the new Food Standards Agency (FSA) on April 1st 2000. The FSA website may be entered by clicking on the icon.
